Race nights are the perfect fundraiser; with no risk to you, the punters can bet as much or as little as they wish, while you the bookie for the evening, reap the rewards. Working with the tote system you only pay out a percentage of the monies raised, so you can’t lose!
So, what is a race night?
A race night is a fun–packed lottery, which aims – through modest betting and horse sales – to raise funds for your club or organisation. All the action takes place on a giant screen suitable in size for your venue. The races are top quality and have been recorded at some of the best loved courses in Great Britain; we also have a fine selection of races from around the world.
Selling the horses is a major part of any race night. Once sold, all your costs should have been covered. There are eight races each with eight runners. By selling the horses for £5 each you will have raised £320. Of course you can sell them for as much or little as you wish.
All our race nights are fully computerised using digital quality films on a big screen with high quality digital sound. The races are loaded on to the hard drive and are picked at random. The tote calculation program is similar to ones used at the greyhound tracks, calculating the payouts as percentages of money taken for each runner.
Nearly all UK race courses are represented, from Perth in the north to Folkestone in the south – all are genuine races from the past seven or eight years with horses running for real, so there are no contrived finishes here!
